Easy Flatbreads
These flatbreads are easy to make, and the recipe is easy to remember. You just combine the same amount of self-raising flour with yoghurt!
This makes a nice neutral base to add your own flavouring. For example, add nigella seeds to give them a naan-bread vibe, or brush with garlic and herb butter!
This recipe makes 2 flatbreads.
Ingredients
- 200g of self raising flour
- 200g of natural yoghurt
- Salt to taste
Method
- Add the flour, salt and yoghurt to a bowl and mix together to form a shaggy dough. Optionally you can add seeds or other flavouring at this point.
- Once combined, tip the dough out onto a work surface and knead until smooth (this won’t take as long as a traditional bread dough – perhaps a few minutes)
- Divide the dough in two, form into balls and then use a rolling pin to make a circular disk around 5mm thick.
- Heat a cast iron pan until it is smoking hot and then cook each of the flatbreads for 1-2 minutes on each side, flipping with tongs. If the dough is puffing up as you cook it this is a good sign!
- Optionally, add melted garlic and herb butter before serving
